Hello…

Welcome to Hope and Hardships, an AI-free storytelling platform for church communities of all hues who want to mature in empathy and compassion by exploring narratives about skin tone bias, trauma and relationships.

Here is where I’ll share insightful stories about my turbulent journey with Christ, plus my unfortunate adventures as a darker-skinned woman who’s stuck inside a broken and biased bubble.

My calling is to encourage curious hue-mans to become more aware of the behavioral patterns linked to skin tone bias.

(Kindhearted humans have biases, as we live in a biased bubble.)

My hope is that my stories—built on expertise and 30-plus years of lived experiences—could be referenced in sermons, Bible studies or team meetings that aim to remain aware of the collective pain and systemic injustice that stem from skin tone bias.

An opportunity to subscribe to this storytelling platform will be available soon.

Thank you,

Your highly melanated neighbor
